Coolant Filters
The coolant filter is an important component in the vehicle cooling system. It is mainly used to filter impurities, sediments and corrosive substances in the coolant to ensure the cleanliness of the coolant, thereby protecting the normal operation of the engine and cooling system.
1.Filtering impurities; the coolant will carry metal debris, scale and corrosive substances inside the engine during the circulation process, . The coolant filtercan effectively filter these pollutants to prevent them from blocking the cooling system.
2.Extending the life of the coolant; The performance and service life of the coolant can be extended by filtering impurities;
3.Protecting the cooling system; Clean coolant can prevent the wear or blockage of components such as the water pump, radiator, and thermostat, ensuring the efficient operation of the cooling system.
4.Preventing corrosion; Additives contained in some coolant filters can neutralize the acidic substances in the coolant, preventing the interior of cooling system from corrosion.
The coolant filter is usually installed in the coolant circulation pipeline. impurities and particles in the coolant can be effectively filtered when through the filter. chemical additives contained in some coolant filters can be slowly released into the coolant, playing an anti-corrosion and lubricating role.
1. Ordinary coolant filter
- Only filter impurities in the coolant.
- Commonly used in ordinary passenger cars.
2. Additive coolant filter
- In addition to the filtration, it also contains anti-corrosion and lubricating functions.
- Commonly used in heavy-duty commercial vehicles or high-performance vehicles.
The replacement of the coolant filter varies depending on the model, coolant type and environment. Generally recommended;
- Passenger car; Replace every 2 to 4 years or every 40,000 to 80,000 kilometers.
- Commercial vehicle; Replace every 1 to 2 years or every 20,000 to 40,000 kilometers.
Please refer to the user manual or manufacturer's recommendations for specific replacement.
1. Filter blockage
- Faults; engine overheated; poor coolant circulation.
- Cause; Too much impurities have accumulated due to long-term non-replacement.
2. Coolant leakage
- Faults; Coolant level drops; abnormal engine temperature.
- Cause; the seal is damaged or installed improperly.
3. Additive failure
- Faults; Internal corrosion of the cooling system; damage to the water pump or radiator.
- Cause; Additive filter exceeds service life.
1.Choose the right model
Different vehicles have different specifications for coolant filters. You need to choose the correct model according to the user manual.
2.Regular replacement
Failure to replace the filter for a long time will cause the filter element to become blocking, affecting the flow of coolant and further affecting the heat dissipation of the engine.
3.Installation specifications
Make sure the seal is in place to avoid leakage When replacing.
4. Check the coolant quality
Check the cleanliness and level of the coolant regularly and replace the coolant if necessary.
